InsureHelp.com Introduces Virtual Brokerage for Independent
Agents
WARWICK, N.Y. (Feb. 28, 2000) In a move bolstering the Independent
Agency System in the insurance e-commerce world, Insurehelp.com LLC
today introduced a "virtual brokerage firm" for specialty
products sold by independent agencies.
Insurehelp.com allows agents to gather information, rate, bind and
collect payment for unique insurance products. Products being reviewed
for introduction this year include exhibitor, pet, fine wine collections,
event cancellation, dental, and many others to be named later. Independent
agencies will be able to offer these products from their own Web sites,
as Insurehelp.com remains transparent to the consumer. Additionally
new clients derived from insurehelp.com site and other marketing efforts
will be passed on to local agents. Agencies receive commissions for
the sale, and there is no cost to load up or maintain the products.
"This is what insurance agents need to boost their online presence,"
said Keith Savino, founder and CEO. "The products will not compete
with agencies mainstream business. We will be adding revenue
to every agents bottom line, since we charge no subscription
fees, provide new income opportunities, and the sale is simply done."
Savino said the Insurehelp.com online model is "the perfect click
and mortar combination; we have simply moved the process online. We
are also using the traditional distribution force because it enables
local support for the consumer who will be buying the insurance from
a local agent or broker."
InsureHelp.com's three distribution channels include the local agency
web site, co-branded sites, and corporate Intranets. In all cases
the client can get support from a local agency. "Essentially
it is our plan to be everywhere the insurance buyer is, but hand off
the client to the agent upon completion. We are taking advantage of
what we know works, the local agency system" Savino said.
Insurehelp.com's initial test agencies are in California, Connecticut,
Florida, New Jersey and New York, but the system is open to agents
in all 50 states. InsureHelp.com is carefully selecting the first
agencies in each state and is now accepting nationwide pre-registration.
Product availability is limited by state, and broker availability.
Virginia Vaughn of Vaughn Insurance (Tallahassee, Fl.) and vice president
of the Florida Agents Association, says "this can reduce the
amount of time we would spend on unique insurance product support,
we have added new types of insurance we would have otherwise passed
up." Peter Wilson (Norwalk, CT), past president of The Professional
Insurance Agents of Connecticut, says, "Since Insurehelp.com
helps us to efficiently write this business, we get to do what agents
do best get to know the client and identify other insurance
needs. As a result I can cross sell everyone on the more mainstream
lines of business."
Insurehelp.com also said it appointed Mike Bergstein as chief information
officer.
Agents can contact Insurehelp.com at 1-800-994-2855 for more information.
